[Saba Sports News] After the first T20I of the ongoing series between South Africa and India ended in a complete washout, it’s time for the second match to begin in Gqeberha.
Meanwhile, South Africa have asked India to bat first after the toss. As both the teams announced their playing XIs, India made a surprising move, opting to drop leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi.
Bishnoi, who is the number one T20I bowler and was also the Player of the Series against Australia, took nine wickets in five matches in India’s last white-ball assignment. However, despite his solid run, the team management chose to make him sit out of the XI.
Shreyas Iyer, who scored a fifty in the previous game, is also dropped. Wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan too was sidelined as India preferred Jitesh Sharma over him.
Notably, Ruturaj Gaikwad was unavailable for selection due to an illness.
India Playing XI: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, Tilak Varma, Suryakumar Yadav (c),
Rinku Singh, Jitesh Sharma (wk), Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed
Siraj, Arshdeep Singh, Mukesh Kumar
