[Saba Sports News] In her pursuit of a third Olympic
medal, PV Sindhu, as the “no. 1” of Indian badminton, has enlisted
the guidance of Indian badminton star Prakash Padukone. They are currently
undergoing specialised training at the Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy
(PPBA). Prakash Padukone is a highly accomplished figure in Indian badminton.
He was the first Indian player to win the Badminton World Cup men’s singles
championship and the All England Open Badminton Championship. Following his
retirement, Prakash served as the president of the Indian Badminton Association
and coached the Indonesian national team, nurturing numerous world-class
players. In an exclusive interview with “Hindustan Times,” Prakash
spoke highly of PV Sindhu’s talent, stating that it will be challenging to find
a player who can surpass her in the women’s singles field in the future. PV
Sindhu regards Prakash Padukone as her best friend and mentor. Despite being 67
years old, Prakash remains actively involved in Indian badminton out of a sense
of social responsibility, earning him great respect for his selfless spirit.
