[Saba Sports News] India’s strength and conditioning coach Ankit Kaliyar highlighted the influence of Virat Kohli on young batter Shubman Gill, particularly regarding fitness and batting style. Kaliyar praised Gill’s fitness and skill, noting his emulation of Kohli’s approach.
“Shubman is very fit and skilled, and there’s no doubt he’s inspired by Virat bhai in batting, fitness, and skill. I’m sure he will do well for the country in the coming years,” Kaliyar shared.
Kaliyar also acknowledged Kohli as one of the fittest athletes globally, crediting his stringent fitness schedule for maintaining a lean physique over the years. “Virat Kohli is the fittest player in the Indian team and the world, following a strict schedule,” he added.
In the recent ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, both Kohli and Gill had notable performances.
