[Saba Sports News] Ahead of IPL 2024, star Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been confirmed to return to Mumbai Indians from Gujarat Titans in an all-cash trade, with no players exchanged in return.
Despite earlier speculations and reports of a INR 15 crore deal, and an initial retention by Gujarat, a recent report confirms Pandya’s move to Mumbai Indians as of November 26. In a similar all-cash deal, Mumbai Indians all-rounder Cameron Green has been traded to Royal Challengers Bangalore for INR 17.5 crore.
“According to insiders from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and IPL, a formal approval has been granted for these cash-only trades,” the report stated.
This development, formally approved by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and IPL, marks significant shifts in team dynamics. Pandya, who led Gujarat Titans to their first IPL title in 2022 and to the finals in 2023, is expected to strengthen Mumbai Indians in their quest for a sixth IPL title.
