[Saba Sports News] shan Kishan, the talented wicketkeeper-batsman, has been officially released from the Indian Test squad ahead of their upcoming series in South Africa. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) issued a statement on Sunday confirming that Kishan had made a personal request to be excused from the squad.
In response to Kishan’s withdrawal, the BCCI has called up KS Bharath as his replacement. Bharath, who has already gained experience in five Test matches, will now join the squad as one of the two wicketkeeping options, alongside KL Rahul.
The Indian squad for the Test series is a blend of experience and emerging talent, led by Rohit Sharma as the captain. The team includes players like Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, the seasoned Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, and Ruturaj Gaikwad. In the bowling department, the squad features KL Rahul (also serving as a wicketkeeper), ace spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, pace bowler Shardul Thakur, and fast bowler Mohd. Siraj. Additionally, the team includes Mukesh Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah, who is the vice-captain, and Prasidh Krishna, with KS Bharat now adding to the wicketkeeping strength. This well-rounded squad is set to take on the challenges of the South African series with a mix of skill, experience, and youthful energy.
