[Saba Sports News] Indonesian badminton player
Jonatan Christie recently shared the delightful news of his wife’s pregnancy on
social media, which garnered significant attention from fans. In the accompanying
photo, Jonatan and his wife can be seen holding pregnancy test sticks in their
hands, wearing happy smiles on their faces. This heartwarming moment prompted
netizens to flood the comments section with messages and blessings. Some fans
playfully teased Jonatan, saying, “Last year, we got married as a group,
and this year, we’re having a baby as a group. Have you made appointments
yet?” According to available information, Jonatan and his wife tied the
knot on December 1, 2023. The pregnancy announcement comes exactly four months
after their wedding. Jonatan’s “speed of creation” seems to be on par
with his speed on the badminton court. In Indonesia, where badminton is
considered the “national sport,” local badminton players hold a
prominent status and influence. It is perhaps due to this cultural context that
members of the Indonesian men’s badminton team often follow the tradition of
marrying and starting families at a young age. Jonatan, who is 26 years old and
has previously reached the world No. 2 ranking in men’s singles, clinched the
gold medal in men’s singles at the 2018 Jakarta Asian Games. Looking ahead to
the upcoming Paris Olympics, Jonatan has expressed his ambition to secure the
championship title.
