[Saba Sports News] Kamran Ghulam made a memorable debut for Pakistan in the second Test against England in Multan.
Stepping in after Babar Azam was dropped due to recent poor form, Ghulam seized his opportunity by scoring a century, becoming the 13th Pakistani to hit a ton on Test debut. At 29, he also became the second-oldest Pakistani to achieve this milestone, after Abid Ali.
In a video shared by the PCB, Ghulam was shown proudly adding his name to the Multan Cricket Stadium honors board, joining notable players like Abdullah Shafique, Salman Ali Agha, Shan Masood, Harry Brook, and Joe Root.
“A memorable day for @KamranGhulam7 as he puts his name on the Multan Cricket Stadium honours board following a 100 on debut,” read the PCB’s post.
With Pakistan looking to recover from a recent series loss to Bangladesh and a heavy defeat in the first Test against England, Ghulam’s performance brings hope. England had overpowered Pakistan in the first Test, winning by an innings and 47 runs.
The PCB’s decision to drop Babar Azam stirred some attention, but Ghulam’s impressive debut suggests the replacement is up to the challenge.
