[Saba Sports News] The Lakers announced on Monday that they have released guard Scotty Pippen Jr., along with guard Damion Baugh and forward Vincent Valerio-Bodon, as part of their roster cuts.
Scotty Pippen Jr., the son of the legendary Basketball Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen, had joined the Lakers last season after signing a two-way contract following the 2022 draft, where he went undrafted. During his time with the Lakers, he made just six appearances, averaging 2.3 points per game.
However, he had a more significant role in the G League, where he averaged 21.4 points per game across 19 appearances. Scotty’s tenure with the Lakers was notable for an awkward situation with a teammate, but both players are no longer on the Lakers’ roster.
