Sports News] Some time ago, the Professional Soccer Referees Association (PSRA)
in the United States initiated negotiations with Major League Soccer (MLS) due
to concerns over the salary structure. However, due to prolonged disagreements
during negotiations, the PSRA decided to go on strike, sparking widespread
discussions across the country. Recently, there has been a significant
development in this contentious issue. The Professional Soccer Referees
Association and Major League Soccer have reached a new labor agreement. MLS has
made concessions by agreeing to meet the wage demands put forth by the PSRA,
leading to the end of the lockout and the resumption of MLS games officiated by
the referees. According to reports, the Professional Soccer Referees
Association and Major League Soccer have signed a new seven-year collective
bargaining agreement. The agreement includes an increase in referee salaries,
with senior referees seeing their earnings rise from $108,000 to $142,000.
