[Saba Sports News] Star Indian pacer Mohammed Shami was recently seen sharing valuable advice with Nepal cricketers at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru.
The Nepal team is gearing up for the Cricket World Cup League 2 tournament in Canada, while Shami is working on his recovery after ankle surgery earlier this year.
On August 18, the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) shared a picture of Shami offering guidance to their players, which was warmly appreciated by Nepal cricket fans.
Shami has been out of action since the ODI World Cup 2023 final but is expected to return to competitive cricket during the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 with Bengal.
BCCI secretary Jay Shah also confirmed that Shami is likely to make his international comeback in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy later this year, emphasizing the importance of his experience for India’s tour of Australia.
“Our team is already well prepared. We have rested Jasprit Bumrah for a while now. Mohammad Shami is expected to be fit too. This is an experienced Indian side now. Seniors like Rohit and Kohli are fit,” Shah shared about India’s preparation for the Australia series when asked.
“Your question about Shami is right… he will be there because he is experienced, and we need him in Australia,” he added.
