[Saba Sports News] Nepal’s star batter, Kushal Bhurtel, showcased his fielding prowess in an Asian T20 Cup semifinal against the United Arab Emirates (UAE). In a crucial moment, Bhurtel took a spectacular catch to dismiss Vishnu Sukumaran, highlighting his acrobatic skills. During this match, UAE was chasing a modest target of 120 runs and was making a strong start.
In the eighth over, despite Nepal bowler Gulshan Jha being hit for a six, he managed to maintain tight lines. His efforts paid off when Sukumaran, lured by a well-angled delivery, went for a lofted shot but ended up caught by Bhurtel’s exceptional effort in the field.
Despite this brilliant fielding display, the rest of the match was challenging for Nepal. Their batsmen struggled, and the bowlers, defending a mere 120 runs, couldn’t contain the UAE batsmen. UAE reached the target in just 17.2 overs, with Alishan Sharfu playing a key role by scoring 55 runs off 44 balls.
This victory secured UAE a spot in the finals, while Nepal was left to wait for another chance to compete for third place. They will face the loser of the upcoming match between Oman and Hong Kong, hoping to rebound from their loss and secure a favorable finish in the tournament.
