[Saba Sports News] Former India cricketer Dinesh Karthik recently named his all-time India XI but accidentally left out MS Dhoni. After being called out on social media, Karthik issued an apology, acknowledging Dhoni as one of India’s greatest cricketers.
Under Dhoni’s leadership, India won the 2007 T20 World Cup, the 2011 ODI World Cup, and the 2013 Champions Trophy.
Besides being an exceptional leader, Dhoni amassed over 10,000 runs in ODI cricket. Karthik explained that he unintentionally forgot to include a wicketkeeper in his lineup and that fans mistakenly assumed he picked Rahul Dravid as a makeshift option.
“Bhai log, it was a big mistake. I realized it only when the episode came out. There were so many things happening that I genuinely forgot the keeper,” Karthik shared. He emphasized that Dhoni is a “lock-in” for any format and is one of the greatest cricketers ever.
Karthik’s XI featured Virender Sehwag and Rohit Sharma as openers, with Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, and Virat Kohli in the middle order. He chose Yuvraj Singh and Ravindra Jadeja as finishers, and completed the team with R Ashwin, Anil Kumble, Jasprit Bumrah, and Zaheer Khan.
