[Saba Sports News] Australian cricketer and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) captain Pat Cummins recently took a break from the IPL season to play an impromptu game of cricket with children at a government school in Hyderabad. The video of this heartwarming interaction went viral, earning applause from fans worldwide.
During his visit to a Zilla Parishad school, Cummins engaged with the enthusiastic children, taking a turn with the bat to face deliveries from the students. This gesture highlighted his connection with the local community amidst the intense IPL schedule.
On the cricket front, SRH has had a strong IPL 2024 season under Cummins’ captaincy, securing a playoff spot with 15 points from 13 matches, including seven wins. Cummins has contributed significantly with 14 wickets in 12 games. Although their recent match against Gujarat Titans was rained out, both teams received a point.
Looking ahead, SRH is set to play their last league match against Punjab Kings on Sunday. Positioned third in the standings, they aim to secure a top-two spot. If Rajasthan Royals, currently second, lose their final game and SRH wins against Punjab, SRH could rise in the standings and potentially face Kolkata Knight Riders in Qualifier 1 on May 21.
