[Saba Sports News] The Pakistan Super League (PSL) is set for a scheduling conflict with the Indian Premier League (IPL) next season.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is reportedly adjusting the dates for its premier T20 league due to a packed international calendar.
According to PTI, the PCB has indicated that the PSL might run from April 10 to May 25 next year, overlapping with the IPL, which took place from March 22 to May 26 this year.
Traditionally held in February and March, the PSL is being rescheduled to accommodate a tri-series hosted by Pakistan, the Champions Trophy, and a tour by the West Indies.
This shift aims to avoid clashes with these major international commitments, making the overlap with the IPL inevitable.
The change is expected to significantly impact players, fans, and broadcasters, as the PSL and IPL are two of the most popular T20 leagues globally. Concurrent schedules could divide viewership and sponsorship interests.
A meeting in May discussed plans for the next PSL season, likely featuring matches in Karachi, Lahore, Multan, and Rawalpindi.
