[Saba Sports News] In the ongoing T20I series, South Africa and India clashed in the second match at St. George’s Park, Gqeberha, on December 12, following a rain-affected first game in Durban. Hoping for better weather, the teams geared up for this encounter.
India, batting first, saw Rinku Singh shine with an impressive 68 not out off 39 balls, steering the team to a solid 180. Post-match, Singh discussed his interaction with captain Suryakumar Yadav and apologized for accidentally breaking a commentator box window during his play.
Singh shared in a BCCI video, “Batting at three wickets down was challenging. Surya advised me to stick to my natural game. Initially tough, I gradually adapted and performed well.” Regarding the broken window, he added, “I wasn’t aware until pointed out. My apologies for that.”
South Africa’s chase was boosted by Reeza Hendricks’ 49 off 27 balls, helping them reach a rain-adjusted target of 152 in 15 overs, winning by five wickets with an over to spare. Leading the series 1-0, the hosts aim to seal the three-match series in the upcoming third T20I in Johannesburg on December 14.
