[Saba Sports News] Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan recently expressed his profound relief and joy at cricketer Rishabh Pant’s return to cricket after a severe car accident that had sidelined him for over a year. The accident, which occurred in December 2022, had shocked the nation, and Khan shared his distress during an interview.

Khan also spoke about the unique challenges faced by athletes recovering from injuries, emphasizing the added difficulty for sportsmen due to the potential impact on their careers and personal lives. “I have youngsters in my team as well. I hoped he wasn’t injured badly. And a sportsman getting injured, it’s a double jeopardy.
Worse than that, us getting injured. I wish him all the best. I hope his knee gets fully recovered soon. In the last game, when I met him, I was telling him don’t get up, it must be hurting,” he shared, touching on the vulnerability athletes face.
Despite these challenges, Pant has demonstrated remarkable resilience and skill, impressing in the Indian Premier League (IPL). “I was hugging him and asking are you well? I had not seen him before that, post the accident. I am really happy that he’s back, playing well and I hope he keeps on playing well,” Khan added, showing his support for Pant’s recovery and return to form.
Pant’s performance in the IPL has been outstanding, earning praise from Delhi’s coaching greats, Sourav Ganguly and Ricky Ponting, who have tipped him for inclusion in the national team for the upcoming T20 World Cup.
