[Saba Sports News] Bangladesh recently achieved a historic 2-0 Test series whitewash against Pakistan, marking their first-ever series win against their South Asian rivals.
The triumph, sealed with a six-wicket victory in Rawalpindi, ended a 12-match winless streak against Pakistan.
After being reduced to 26/6 in the second Test, Bangladesh’s chances looked bleak. However, centurion Litton Das and all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz spearheaded a remarkable comeback.
Miraz’s five-wicket haul played a key role in dismantling Pakistan’s batting lineup, while veterans Mushfiqur Rahim and Shakib Al Hasan were instrumental in guiding Bangladesh to victory in the final innings.
Skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto celebrated the win by posting a picture on social media, sleeping next to the trophy with the caption, “Good morning.”
This series marked Bangladesh’s fourth-ever Test series whitewash and their second away from home, making them the second team after England to sweep a Test series in Pakistan.
Shanto emphasized the importance of maintaining momentum for their upcoming series against India, where Bangladesh will aim to secure their first-ever Test win against their neighbors. Praising Miraz’s performance, Shanto said, “His five wickets in these conditions were impressive, and I hope he can do the same against India.”
