[Saba Sports News] On National Sports Day, Mumbai’s cricket stars took a break from the field to spread joy and inspiration at Sri Ramakrishna Multi Speciality Hospital in Coimbatore.
Among the visiting players were Suryakumar Yadav, Shreyas Iyer, and Dhawal Kulkarni, who spent time with patients in the Oncology Department.
The visit was a heartfelt gesture, with the young patients welcoming the cricketers with red roses.
The kids also gifted art portraits to Suryakumar and Shreyas as souvenirs. Both players interacted with the children, signed mini cricket bats, and handed out gifts, wishing them a speedy recovery before leaving.
On the cricket front, Mumbai’s performance in the Buchi Babu Invitational Tournament was disappointing, as they faced a heavy defeat against TNCA XI, ending their hopes of reaching the semifinals. Key batters Iyer and Sarfaraz Khan struggled to make an impact, while Suryakumar Yadav couldn’t bat due to a hand injury sustained while fielding.
However, reports indicate the injury isn’t serious, and his absence was likely a precautionary measure. Shams Mulani top-scored with 68 runs in Mumbai’s chase of 510, but TNCA XI’s bowlers, CV Achyuth and R Sai Kishore, took three wickets each to bowl out Mumbai for 223 by Day Four.
