[Saba Sports News] The ICC has invited all former World Cup-winning captains to the ODI World Cup 2023 final between India and Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Each of these legendary skippers, including Clive Lloyd, Kapil Dev, Allan Border, Arjuna Ranatunga, Steve Waugh, Ricky Ponting, MS Dhoni, Michael Clarke, and Eoin Morgan, will receive a special blazer on November 19. Imran Khan, however, will be absent due to his imprisonment.
Adding to the festivities, the BCCI has arranged for a musical performance by renowned director Pritam post the first innings. The audience will be treated to hits like “Lehra do,” “Jeetega Jeetega,” “Dangal,” and others, with 500 dancers accompanying the music. During the second drinks break of the second innings, a spectacular light and laser show is planned, with experienced show curators from the United Kingdom handling the event. In a first for any sporting event worldwide, an aerial champions board will display after announcing the winner.
Preparations at the Narendra Modi Stadium are in full swing for this monumental event. The Indian team has already arrived in Ahmedabad following their win over New Zealand in the semi-finals. Australia is expected to arrive on November 17, with both teams having an optional training session on November 18.
This grand event, loaded with history and grandeur, promises to be a cricketing spectacle like no other, with immense pressure and anticipation surrounding how the teams will perform on this significant day.
