Sports News] In a recent interview, Max Verstappen, the current F1 Red Bull
Racing driver, shared his thoughts on the new F1 regulations set to be
introduced in 2026. Verstappen expressed a lack of excitement about the
upcoming changes and stated that he is uncertain about how the new regulations
will impact the driving experience. He mentioned that the new rules will be a
factor in considering his future in the sport and that it will take time to
evaluate their effects. One significant change in the 2026 regulations is the
requirement for participating teams to use 100% sustainable fuel. Additionally,
the power output will be divided equally between the engine and the electric
motor, with each providing 50%. Verstappen expressed concern that these changes
might result in slower F1 cars compared to the current generation. He also
suggested that the gap between different teams could widen further as a result.
However, Verstappen acknowledged that the new regulations have the potential to
level the playing field, allowing teams with less comprehensive resources to
challenge dominant teams and break their stranglehold on the sport.
