[Saba Sports News] Following the recent passing
of renowned Japanese manga artist Akira Toriyama, the global popularity of
“Dragon Ball” has once again surged. However, four years ago,
“Dragon Ball” had already ventured into a cross-border collaboration
with the sport of badminton. In 2020, which marked the 25th anniversary of the
completion of the “Dragon Ball” manga, VICTOR, a world-renowned
badminton equipment manufacturer, seized the opportunity to launch badminton
peripherals with a “Dragon Ball” theme. This marked the first-ever
co-branding between “Dragon Ball” and a badminton brand, enabling
Dragon Ball enthusiasts who are also badminton lovers to have their own Dragon
Ball-themed equipment. The collaboration garnered attention from many notable
badminton players. Former world number one women’s singles player Tai Tzu-Ying
expressed her gratitude to VICTOR for the “Dragon Ball” co-branded
model. Men’s singles player Tzu Wei Wang also praised the design, stating that
he particularly liked the stylish joint series and that the shoes were in line
with his preferences. The specially designed Shenlong racket by VICTOR features
multiple dragon beads adorning the 5 o’clock and 7 o’clock positions, with the
word “dragon” engraved on the tee. The gift box comes with a dragon
ball-shaped gashapon, which can be used to store grip glue. Additionally, the
custom racket bag showcases a front and back pattern design for the first time.
Wang Ziwei’s favored Wukong badminton shoes adopt the classic orange and blue
color scheme of Sun Wukong’s martial arts attire, with the added “Wu”
character at the back. With the passing of Akira Toriyama, VICTOR’s
“Dragon Ball” co-branded badminton peripherals have once again gained
popularity.
