[Saba Sports News] Ace India batter Virat Kohli has been enjoying family time in London after India’s T20 World Cup victory in the USA and West Indies. As India prepares for a white-ball series tour of Sri Lanka, Kohli is expected to rest from international duties.
A recent viral clip shows Kohli in London with his wife Anushka Sharma and holding his son, Akaay Kohli. This marks his first public appearance since the T20 World Cup final.
In an interview, former India cricketer Amit Mishra made controversial comments about Kohli, suggesting fame and money have changed him. Mishra recounted an incident during the IPL 2023 where Kohli allegedly abused players, including Naveen-ul-Haq, during and after a match. Mishra mentioned an altercation with Gautam Gambhir, who intervened when Kohli continued the behavior post-game.
“He (Kohli) started abusing our players (in the LSG vs RCB rematch in Lucknow). He didn’t have any grudges with Kyle Mayers, but he abused him as well. Naveen-ul-Haq was bowling, and he abused him too. A lot could have been avoided, but Kohli chose not to,” Mishra said. “The public was going mad so Gautam gestured them to keep quiet. Probably Virat Kohli didn’t like that. We thought the matter ended with the game but not for Kohli. But the problem began after the game. He (Kohli) started abusing him again during the customary handshakes. That’s when Gambhir intervened, questioning why are you starting it again when the game had ended and you guys had won. I moved Gambhir away but Naveen later came to the dressing and said that Kohli started abusing again,” he added.
Despite these remarks, RCB pacer Yash Dayal posted a picture with Kohli on Instagram, captioning it, “It’s an honour to stand beside you bhaiya @virat.kohli.”
