Sports News] At the start of the 2024 Formula One World Championship, Red Bull
Racing made an exciting announcement. Three-time world champion Max Verstappen
took the new RB20 car for a spin at the iconic Silverstone Circuit in the UK,
accompanied by an extraordinary chase from the world’s fastest racing drone.
The breathtaking footage captivated car enthusiasts worldwide. The cutting-edge
drone was developed by a Dutch drone manufacturer in collaboration with the Red
Bull Racing Team, boasting a remarkable speed of over 300 kilometers per hour.
Pilot Ralph Hogenbirk, known as the “Dutch Racing God,” used
“FPV goggles” to control the drone and track the RB20 throughout an
entire lap. Hogenbirk mentioned that creating a drone capable of keeping up
with the cars, maintaining a stable frame, and capturing footage in an engaging
manner was an incredibly challenging project. He described it as the most
thrilling endeavor he had undertaken so far. Thanks to the unique design
facilitated by 3D printing and the assistance of the Red Bull technical team,
the aerodynamic performance of traditional racing drones has been greatly
improved.
